Riverside Park Bird Sanctuary

In 1841, famed naturalist John James Audubon bought thirty acres and built his home less than two miles north of what is now the Riverside Park Bird Sanctuary. It is designated as an official NYC Parks & Recreation Forever Wild site, that hosts year-round events for the local community.
