Margate ReWild Yourself Community Hub

ReWild Yourself, an initiative by the Voice for Nature Foundation, is creating the third ReWild Yourself Community Hub in Margate.

Why this Location?

There are many schools, homes and community organisations within walking-distance that will benefit from a welcoming, outdoor space to connect with Nature and each other. Additionally, the area also faces housing development pressures, low canopy cover and is in need of active efforts for Nature recovery and social engagement.

Creating this ReWild Yourself Community Hub and ERANDA Forest will offer up a space for the community to connect with Nature, as well as help improve local wildlife and biodiversity.

The Community

We are working closely with Thanet District Council and the local community to co-create this ReWild Yourself Community Hub.

We’ll continuously engage with more members of the community as the project progresses. If you are a member of a local community group and would like to get involved please contact us for more details!

The ERANDA Forest

The ERANDA Forest Margate will be planted with the help of local schools, community groups and our Forest Partner and designer SUGi, in November 2026. We will be planting many different native species, including English Oak, Hornbeam, Field Maple, Silver Birch, Wild Cherry and Field Rose, using the renowned Miyawaki Method. 

ReWild Yourself Community Programme

There will be a ReWild Yourself Community Programme of Nature connection workshops co-designed with our expert partner facilitator, Natural Academy, along with other local organisations and groups. Individuals will become accredited facilitators under the NatureWell approach by Natural Academy. The sessions will engage youth and adult groups running from Spring 2027 to Spring 2028.

• Please contact us if you’re a member of a Margate community group and would be interested in taking part in our ‘free to attend’ ReWild Yourself Community Programme for Nature connection. The workshops will be held at the ReWild Yourself Community Hub in Margate, the sessions will be held monthly over a 4 month period – 4 sessions in total for a maximum group size of 20.

• The ReWild Yourself Community Hub is a community space to gather and connect. Feel free to roam around, bring your local group, friends, family… It’s a space for you! We just ask you remember to take care while visiting and leave it in good condition for others to enjoy.
